![]() ![]() Interested in my review for the drama: click here. Overall, the film was alright, but the show is so much better. Lastly, the ending credits scene at the end of the movie was seriously out of place. Honestly, who can compete with Yang Yang? However, everything else about the show was better. The dorm rooms and the internet café weren’t as pretty as they were on the show which seems to fit more of the college student ambiance. Plus, I liked how the settings were a little bit more nitty-gritty. What I appreciated from the movie more was that Wei Wei is tougher in it. The movie lost that along with those college first love feels. Something else I thought the show did better was the important school campus vibe. The way CAO Guang suddenly flipped his tune and romantically confessed to Wei Wei immediately after getting burned by her during their first meeting was the most ridiculous plotline ever. Let’s talk about changes that actually bugged me. ![]() Plus, Mengran is supposedly the prettiest girl at school, so why couldn’t they cast an actress who would be able to pull off that title? Even Wei Wei’s friends/roommates in the TV show looked better than their movie counterparts. Production could’ve taken the liberty and gotten rid of her like how Zhen Shui and CAO Guang were combined which was a good decision. Also, Mengran was not needed in this movie her two scenes were a waste of time. I was upset that the strong bonds between XIAO Nai and his roommates/work partners did not come through in the film. A big part of it is because the show had more time to let the characters grow, friendships, foster, and relationships develop. Personally, I thought the show was way better. However, it didn’t take away from the storytelling experience. The special effects were fun though there were some random ones I didn’t understand. The main actor, JING Boran, did an excellent job as XIAO Nai. The plot had a good flow, and the main relationship developed well. I was a fan of Angelababy when she was originally a model in Hong Kong, but since then, her acting hasn’t done much for me.Īnyways, the movie was decent, and I enjoyed it enough. ![]() I knew that there is also a movie edition starring Angelababy and JING Boran and was interested in comparing the two. Last year, I watched the Chinese drama, “Love 020”, and loved it to bits and pieces. I wish they could have shown more for the movie, it was really quite fun to watch.~ Warning! Spoilers! Chinese Movie Review: “Love 020” (微微一笑很傾城) ~ Ending was a bit rushed in the movie, I’m not too surprised though since they had to squeeze a book into a movie, at least they didn’t get married like in the drama. And isn’t it just amusing how everyone who plays the game seem to know each other and go to the same school? I feel like it would have been a nice touch for someone in the story to point that out. The movie still had a little bit of this issue but it was slightly smoother. I’ve always thought the transition between their relationship on the game to when they finally meet in real life didn’t flow too well. The movie just had more personality and a human touch to it, the main characters were not perfect and kept each other strong in a more relatable way than in the drama. In the drama it felt like Xiao Nai treated Wei Wei almost like a puppy sometimes which I guess was sweet but a little strange too. This drama adapted from Gu Man’s popular novel, One Smile is Very Alluring, which also adapted into movie with the same title starring Jing Boran and Angelababy. Even from the trailer, I could tell how different the people were. Love O2O ( ) Also known as A Smile is Beautiful, Weiwei’s Beautiful Smile, and Just One Smile is Very Alluring. Overall the movie just added more depth to the characters. He wasn’t perfect like the one in the drama but very human. When Xiao Nai and his team were swindled by that corporation in the movie, you could see his pain and frustration. ![]()
